BOXTOROW Polls: Aggies continue as top team in HBCU football

The North Carolina A&T Aggies remain No.1 in the BOXTOROW Coaches and Media Polls for the fourth straight week. The Aggies reign as the top team in HBCU goes back to Week 10 of the 2018 season.

In the coaches poll the most significant moves up were made by No. 5 Arkansas-Pine Bluff and No. 6 Florida A&M. UAPB was No. 10 last week, making its first appearance in the poll since the 2014 season. The Golden Lions have won three straight games including Saturday’s victory over Tennessee State. Florida A&M was in the receiving votes category last week. Alabama State was also in the receiving votes category last week and moves reenters the poll at No. 8.

Similarly in the media poll for both Florida A&M and Alabama State, both reenter the poll, the Rattlers at No. 5, the Hornets tied for No. 8 (Bowie State). The top four spots held by North Carolina A&T, Bethune-Cookman, Alcorn State and South Carolina State remain the same, with Bethune-Cookman the only team other than A&T receiving a first place vote.

The BOXTOROW HBCU FCS coaches poll and media poll are administered by FROM THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW. The coaches poll, in its 11th year is voted on by the HBCU Football Championship Subdivision coaches and the media poll, in its 13th year, is voted on by media members around the country who cover HBCU football.
