BOXTOROW Poll: Coaches unanimous, media split as A&T remains No. 1 in HBCU football
Despite its loss to FBS Duke, North Carolina A&T remains No.1 in the BOXTOROW Coaches and Media Polls.
In the coaches poll all votes went to the Aggies who distanced No.2 Bethune-Cookman by 31 points. As a matter of fact, the top six teams remained the same with Alcorn State, Southern, and South Carolina State rounding out the top five. Alabama State and Norfolk State both picked up wins and enter the top 10 for the first time this year.
In the media poll, Virginia Union had the biggest win of the week defeating Hampton who dropped out of the poll. The Panthers debut at No.7. The Aggies received all but four of the first place votes. Two each went to No. 3 Alcorn State and No. 4 South Carolina State.
The BOXTOROW HBCU FCS coaches poll and media poll are administered by FROM THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW. The coaches poll, in its 11th year is voted on by the HBCU Football Championship Subdivision coaches and the media poll, in its 13th year, is voted on by media members around the country who cover HBCU football.

BOXTOROW National Player of the Week: KHA’Darris Davis
Davis completed 20-of-30 passes for 347 yards and four touchdowns as the Hornets came from behind to defeat Tuskegee 38-31. In two games, Davis has completed 62 percent of his passes and has thrown six touchdowns to just two interceptions.

BOXTOROW National Player of the Week: Tabyus Taylor
Taylor carried the ball 25 times for for 159 yards, caught two passes for 38 yards and returned a kickoff 58 yards in the Panthers 36-17 victory over Hampton. Taylor registered 255 multi-purpose yards in the game.
Taylor played quarterback at Hopewell High School and originally committed to play at Virginia Tech.
