North Charleston restaurant and catering company ChuckTown Mobile Seafood & Café relocated from 5093 Dorchester Road, where it had operated since 2015, to 7013 Dorchester Road Suite A in Maingate Plaza this spring. ChuckTown Seafood Café owner Chef Kevin “Frydaddie” Greene was excited to transfer his business from a takeout-driven eatery to a forty-eight seat diner. “We try to maintain excellence with good food, affordable food, and plentiful portions,” Greene says.
Greene admits that his most popular menu item has been garlic crabs. Cooked with his own garlic, butter and seasoning recipe, Greene uses and sells whole blue crabs, not breaking them in half. A single garlic crab costs $3; three are $8.25, six are $15, and a dozen are $27. “We go through a bushel a day with no problem. Some days, we go through two,” the West Ashley native reveals. His restaurant offers po’boys (shrimp or oyster), she crab soup, seafood salad, chicken drummettes, homemade crab cakes, scallop, fish sandwiches, seafood rice, and more as well.
Additions to ChuckTown Seafood’s traditional menu include catfish nuggets, alligator sausage dogs, fried flounder, grilled salmon, bacon-wrapped shrimp, and the introduction of a kid’s menu. Also, breakfast items such as shrimp/fish/sautéed crab & grits and salmon patties will be added to the weekday menu as regular options July 1.
Greene’s previous military experience as an Airman has allowed him the opportunity to pay it forward to those who have served our nation. “Since they do so much for the country, I want to give back,” he says. This veteran-owned business, located across from the Charleston Air Force Base, offers a 15% discount for veterans, as well as a 10% discount for senior citizens. Sticking with his mobile business roots that began in 2011, Greene continues to offer his seafood catering services throughout South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina.

The restaurant is open Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 8 PM and Saturday (lunch and dinner only) from 11 AM to 6 PM.
