Dr. Domnique Newallo was a previous resident of Florence Crittenton, a home for unwed mothers. She gave birth to her first son at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). March 16, 2019, Dr. Newallo will be the featured guest speaker for the Fifth Annual “Geri Speak” Conference. The event will be held at Hyatt Place North Charleston, 2455 Prospect Dr., North Charleston, SC.
Most folks are aware that the street life may lead to the hospital. Dr. Newallo lived a life of crime as a young woman, but thanks to some life changes, her path to the hospital was very different. She had no idea that she would later receive her medical degree from MUSC, where she spent five years as a Research Assistant before moving to Atlanta, GA, where she now works at Emory Healthcare.
“Nobody can tell me there isn’t a God after all the things I’ve put myself through,” says Dr. Newallo. Her passion is to truly influence others to live to their full potential all while showing them that it’s never too late to be who you want to be. She believes her story proves that young girls can overcome huge obstacles to make their dreams come true.
