The Lowcountry Food Bank’s 20th annual Chefs’ Feast gala, which took place on Sunday, February 10, set a new record at $450,000 for donations that support the fight against childhood hunger. More than 750 community partners and guests attended the annual event. Three generous supporters donated $20,000 each to commemorate the 20th year of Chefs’ Feast.
Chefs’ Feast is a collaboration between the Lowcountry Food Bank and nearly 30 of the community’s most celebrated chefs who offered up delectable bites for guests to enjoy. Guests also participated in a live auction and met the Lowcountry’s own celebrity chefs as they served up signature dishes.

Proceeds from Chefs’ Feast benefit the Lowcountry Food Bank’s childhood hunger programs – Kids Café, BackPack Buddies, School Pantry, In-School Market and Summer Meals – which alleviate after school, weekend and summer hunger for children throughout the coastal counties of South Carolina.
Unfortunately, one in five children throughout the Lowcountry experiences food insecurity and hunger. Through support from Chefs’ Feast and community partners, the Lowcountry Food Bank served 79,721 meals to children last summer alone. The BackPack Buddies program served 136,655 backpacks last year and more than 325,838 Kid’s Café meals were served to thousands of children.
