Once again, volunteers for the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program will be preparing 2018 Federal and South Carolina tax returns at Park Circle Community Center located 4800 Park Circle, North Charleston, SC 29405, beginning Monday, February 4 at 9am each Monday and through Wednesday, April 10, 2019 from 9am-2pm. Taxpayers do not need to be a member of AARP to take advantage of this free service. All volunteer preparers are certified by the Internal Revenue Service.
The Mount Pleasant branch of the Charleston County Library System, 1139 Mathis Ferry Road beginning Friday, February 1, 2019 and for each Monday and Friday thereafter through Friday, April 12, 2019 from 1PM-5PM. Brent McCurdy can be reached at 843-906-5650 or [email protected]
Taxpayers must bring their social security cards for themselves and each dependent they plan to claim on their tax return. Taxpayers and their spouse, if married, should both be present and must bring photo identification and all of their current year tax documents, i.e. W2, 1099, interest and dividend statements and any other required tax documents. It is also helpful for the taxpayers to bring a copy of their prior year tax return. This service is first come, first serve and appointments will not be taken.
A copy of the Federal and South Carolina tax returns will be given to the taxpayers after the return is completed and the returns will be e-filed with the IRS and the SC Department of Revenue. Further information can be found at AARPFoundationTax-Aide.org or by contacting Park Circle Community Center at 843-745-1028.
