The Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry (CML) is offering families a chance to win up to $40,000 in savings for college. CML will be selling tickets at the museum and online now through the end of December. The raffle ticket drawing will be held at the close of CML’s annual Noon Year’s Eve Celebration, which will be held at the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Monday, December 31, 2018.

Purchasers of CML’s College Fund Raffle tickets will be entered to win funds that will be deposited into a Future Scholar 529 savings account. A 529 plan is a tax-advantaged investment vehicle in the United States designed to encourage saving for the future higher education expenses of a designated beneficiary.

Each raffle ticket costs $40, and no more than 2,000 tickets will be sold. CML will split raffle proceeds, up to $40,000, with one winner. The more tickets sold, the larger the pot to split! The winner will have 30 days to claim the prize and name a child beneficiary for the account.

Each raffle ticket purchased is a single entry into the drawing. No CML purchase other than the purchase of a raffle ticket (donation, gift shop, membership, etc.) is necessary to win. Tickets will be on sale online at and at CML’s front desk. Online and on-site ticket sales will cease at 1:59 p.m. on December 31, 2018.

Amount of prize based on total proceeds of the raffle. CML will split proceeds (50/50) with winner, up to and including $40,000. There is no guarantee of prize amount.

“We are thrilled to give our area’s youngest citizens the chance to invest in their future,” said Nichole Myles, Executive Director of the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry. “As leaders in early childhood education, we understand the value of the 529 Plan and are looking forward to helping one lucky family turn $40 into up to $40,000.”
