Michael Miller

Michael Miller seeking the office of Register of Deeds (ROD) for Charleston County on November 6th. This office was created in 1780 and officially records and indexes all legal documents affecting real estate and property in Charleston County. In layman‘s terms, this the library for all property in the county. Michael is attempting to make history by becoming the first African American to hold the office of Register of Deeds in 238 years.

Michael Miller promises his supporters if elected to the office of Register of Deeds, he will educate the public on sound practices of property history and home ownership as it pertains to the ROD Office. More importantly, informative meetings will be held to inform property owners of the role and significance of this office. He will work to develop a process to allow credit and debit card transactions and provide opportunities for cross-training employees within the office.

Michael, the businessman and owner of Michael & Co. LLC, takes his role very seriously as a master hair care specialists. His shop located in West Ashley for 17 years has become not only a hair grooming facility, but also a hub where folks gather to discuss community needs and solutions. He is a staunch advocate for our community and currently serves on the West Ashley Revitalization Commission, supporting the citizens of Charleston.

Michael Miller is no newcomer to the list of philanthropists within the Charleston area. In fact, for the past 20 years, Michael has been giving back to his community with his time and financial resources. His journey lead him to North Charleston as a volunteer from 2003 – 2010, working with at-risk students at North Charleston High School. His weekly visits with students and staff inspired him to further his involvement by being elected to the Charleston County School District Board of Trustees in 2012. For the past 13 years, Michael has supported students of the district with “back to school” items so that no student will start school without the necessary tools for a better beginning.

Michael, the devoted husband and father, has been married to his wife Cassandra for 15 years. They are the proud parents of two children, daughter Michael Kamielle – 10, and son Lord-Anthony – 3. One can often see Michael escorting his children to school, attending parent conferences and at local high school sporting events. Michael meets with parents in the district and has never neglected to respond to their needs. He truly cares about his constituency. His motto is “if not me, then who?”

Michael Miller humbly asks for your vote on November 6th for the Register of Deeds as he will continue to serve his community and meet their needs.
