Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center will host a series of flu shot events in the hospital’s main entrance lobby throughout October and November. The goal is to provide Veterans with a free flu shot without the need to make an appointment to see their provider.
The events, referred to as Flu Blitzes, offer Veterans the chance to get their flu shots in less than ten minutes simply by bringing their Veteran ID Card to the table in the lobby. Everyone, age six months and older, is recommended to get a flu shot each year by VA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Veterans enrolled in VA health care can also get a flu shot at Walgreens, and the information will be automatically added to their VA health record.
