Free Community Block Party Aims for an Economically Vibrant Reynolds Avenue
Lowcountry Local First (LLF) and Metanoia CDC are hosting a free community block party along Reynolds Avenue in the Chicora-Cherokee Neighborhood on October 27, 2018 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The Better Block Reynolds Ave project is a rapid 2-3 month planning effort culminating into a multi-day build and transformative event with collaboration from an engaged community that temporarily improves the physical and economic environment on a specific city block. Better Block will be a demonstration project of what the community envisions for a more connected, walkable, bikeable, economically vibrant, and safe street.
Attendees can expect to enjoy temporary street and safety improvements, community vendors, kids’ activities including a jump castle, an eating contest, live music and dance performances, DJs from Z93, poetry performances, and more!
