Be A Mentor Announces Its Sixth Annual “Going Places Gala: Making Waves”

Be A Mentor, a non-profit children’s advocacy organization, is excited to announce its 6th Annual “Going Places Gala: Making Waves” to be held on November 1st, 2018 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The fundraiser will take place at Sterling Hall at Hyatt Place Hyatt House located at 560 King Street, Charleston, SC.

As the organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year, the Going Places Gala celebrates over 300 mentors in the Charleston area who are making waves in the lives of local youth every week during the school year. The Gala will be sponsored by local and national businesses such as Boeing, Charleston County School District, David Aylor Law Offices, Motley Rice Attorneys at Law, Hendrick Automotive Group, Wells Fargo, Grow Financial, Rosen Hagood, and Saltwater Homes. Sponsorship opportunities still available.

With delicious food, cocktails, and entertainment by local band Return of the Mac, the Gala will feature a silent auction with big ticket items like airfare, spa treatments, vacation experiences, and more. Attendees will also have the chance to participate in a “Wine Pull” and “Caps for Kids.” Be A Mentor would like to thank Bricklane, Cru Catering, Duvall Catering & Events, and Salthouse for their generous culinary donations.

NEW IN 2018: This year, Be A Mentor introduces a VIP cocktail reception before the Gala at Uptown Social from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This will be open to any official sponsors of the Gala, or attendees can upgrade their general admission ticket to a VIP ticket for an additional $25. The VIP cocktail reception will include drinks, appetizers, live entertainment and the chance to win a big-ticket item through a raffle prize (TBA).

Early bird ticket sales have been extended until October 7th where those interested can purchase tickets at a discounted rate of $65. Beginning October 8th, tickets will be sold at standard price of $85.
