Black Ink Festival Adds Friday Evening Reception for Terry McMillan

The King Street Marketing Group and the Charleston Friends of the Library will host a ticketed welcome reception for Black Ink Book Festival Keynote Speaker Terri McMillan on Friday, September 7 from 6-8:00 pm. The Reception will be held at Halls Signature Events, 5 Faber Street in downtown Charleston and is open to the public.

Tickets are $65. Guests will meet Ms. McMillan receive a copy of her newest novel, I Almost Forgot About You, and enjoy fine wines with Chef Matt Greene’s house-made charcuterie. The reception will benefit The Charleston Friends of the Library.

This is the third annual Black Ink Book Festival. Its mission is to support local black writers, creating a space for them to share their work, discuss their craft, and expose readers of all ages to the great variety of African American authors in the area. General admission to the event (excluding the reception) is free to the public and includes author exhibits, featured author sessions, and entertainment. Read more.

Halls Signature Events is located at 5 Faber Street, just off East Bay Street directly behind S.N.O.B. There is a city-owned parking garage right next door, with an entrance on Cumberland Street for your convenience
