The Charleston Branch NAACP’s monthly General Meeting will be held in the Fellowship Hall of Morris Brown AME Church (13 Morris Street) on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 6:30 pm.
Gubernatorial candidate James Smith will be present to make remarks and to meet and greet those in attendance. Gubernatorial candidate Henry McMaster has also been invited, but has not yet responded.
Other candidates who wish to attend, make remarks and take questions and answers from those in attendance – regardless of political party affiliation – are also invited to do so and to confirm their attendance by calling 843-814-8764.
The meeting will also include information on the Branch’s “Counting on You to Reach Two” voter registration and mobilization initiative.
Chartered in 1917, the Charleston Branch is the oldest and one of the largest and most diverse NAACP Branches in South Carolina.
All members of the NAACP and all citizens with an interest in freedom, fairness and justice are welcome and encouraged to attend and to meet and greet the candidates so that they can be informed voters in November.
