Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church of Hendersonville, South Carolina will host its inaugural Women’s Conference July 27-29, 2018. The objective is to provide a setting for women and young ladies to discuss issues that have long plagued their environment, but have failed to be properly addressed. Topics of discussion in the adult group will include depression led by Minister Candace B. Plaskett, self esteem led by Pastor Da’Jona Brown Navarre and domestic violence led by Shamiqia McPherson, LPC. Discussion topics in the adolescent group will also include depression led by Attorney Taylor Timmons and self esteem led by Jameshia Williams as well as bullying led by Trident Tech Public Safety Officer Allysa Bodison and sex trafficking led by Lisa Kejr. In light of the recent tragic events around the country and the part that mental health issues have played in each it is imperative that the church begin to address these issues in practical ways in order for change to occur. For more information about the conference or how to become a vendor, please email [email protected] or call (843) 844-8870.
