The Charleston Friends of the Library Host John’s Island Book Sale July 27-28
Are you ready to find some great books at a great price? The John’s Island Book Sale, offered by the Charleston Friends of the Library is just around the corner. On July 27th and 28th, more than 10,000 books, DVDs, and CDs will be available at the John’s Island Regional Library (3531 Maybank Hwy.) for incredibly low prices. Prices start at $1 for paperbacks and $3 for hardback books. Children’s books start at just $0.50! Admission is free.
Last year’s annual John’s Island book sale raised more than $7,000, and the Friends hope to exceed that amount. All proceeds raised at the book sale go directly to the Charleston County Public Library System to provide funds for items that cannot be acquired through the regular budget.
Schedule:
· Friday, July 27 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
· Saturday, July 28 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
· A special event for Friends of the Library members will be held at the branch, Thursday evening, July 26 from 5:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Members can join at the door.
The Charleston Friends of the Library, a nonprofit volunteer organization, raises money through book sales to help fund Library services, equipment, training, materials and public programming. The Friends collect and sort donated books for resale to raise money.
