Dedication To Community, a Raleigh, N.C. based not-for-profit organization, launched its partnership with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office during an Awareness & Action Forum hosted by Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in North Charleston on June 7.

The theme was “Rebuilding Our Community – Bridging The Gap & Building Successful Police/Community Relations”. Several hundred community members participated in an engaging and interactive program that included talks by D2C’s founder M. Quentin Williams, an attorney and former FBI Agent, Chief Deputy Eric Watson of the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office and Captain Joyce Smith of the North Charleston Police Department. The audience included Rep. David Mack, School Board Member Kevin Hollinshead and attorney Dwayne Green.

The forum was free to attendees and funded by the charitable contributions of several local businesses. It is the first of several events being scheduled to address some of our community’s most crucial societal issues.
