The Cane Bay Family YMCA recently launched their capital kick-off campaign on May 10 and has already received donations from local organizations.

At the 73rd Sixth District Annual Meeting at the North Charleston Convention Center, the Mu Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi presented $5,000 in support of the Y’s capital campaign; and the donation was immediately matched by the fraternity’s Mighty Sixth District.

“We are so honored to receive this total donation of $10,000,” said Paul Stoney, President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Charleston and the Cane Bay YMCA. “Both organizations have long been supportive of the YMCA and our mission, and we are grateful for the support.”

The Cane Bay Family YMCA has set a goal to raise $5 million before the end of the year. This money will help finish the 54,000 square-foot facility, slated to open early fall.
