Pastor’s Vacancy Notification – Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church (684 Rutledge Avenue) is seeking a full time pastor to continue the ministry of the church. Qualifications are as follows:

– Must be a saved Ordained Baptist Minister and know the Baptist Doctrine                      

– Must have 4 to 5 years’ experience in leadership, administration and teaching under an Ordained Pastor, preferably of the Charleston County Baptist Association                                                                                              

– Must have a 4 year degree, preferably a Master’s Degree; and has attended Seminary College -nMust be able to teach and preach the Word of God, not monetary stability and not be a novice                                                                                           

– Must be agreeable to preach All Sundays of the month

– Must be involved all church activities (ie. Sunday School, Prayer Service; willing and able to teach Bible Study)

– Must possess public speaking skills and be strong in evangelism  

– Must be a good role model of moral and ethical conduct  

– Must practice confidentially and family /community oriented                      

– Must support Morris and Benedict College                               

– Must possess at least 3 years of Baptist ministerial experience and training

– Must supply 4 references: The Moderator of current Association, current Pastor, and male/female layperson to vouch for character

Voter Registration at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church

One of the main goals of the Charleston County Boards of Elections is to increase voter registration for 2018. Effective January 13, 2018 all 17 years old who will be 18 no later than November 6, 2018 can register to vote.  You may register to vote, make changes and/or obtain the new voter I.D. Card at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church on the following dates:

July 21, 2018 –  10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon

September 15, 2018 –  10:00 a.m.  to 12:00 Noon

St. Paul A.M.E. The Quality Education Project (QEP) will have its monthly meeting next Sunday May 20th from 5 to 7pm at the ILA on Morrison Drive. QEP has several important events on the horizon including the first ever Lowcountry education town hall in partnership with the South Carolina Education Association (SCEA) and the National Education Association (NEA) on Tuesday May 22nd (6 to 8pm) at ILA, a follow-up to our successful teacher discussion forum that occurred on May 1st, and a future “How to Run a Campaign Workshop” this summer possibly in June. We will have updates from our various committees on initiatives such as improving Garrett and continue planning and discussion around upcoming events. We hope to see you in attendance on Sunday May 20th as we continue the fight for a quality public education for all students in Charleston.
