Pastor’s Vacancy Notification – Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church (684 Rutledge Avenue) is seeking a full time pastor to continue the ministry of the church. The Application deadline is April 30, 2018. Qualifications are as follows:

– Must be a saved Ordained Baptist Minister and know the Baptist Doctrine                      

– Must have 4 to 5 years’ experience in leadership, administration and teaching under an Ordained Pastor, preferably of the Charleston County Baptist Association                                                                                              

– Must have a 4 year degree, preferably a Master’s Degree; and has attended Seminary College -nMust be able to teach and preach the Word of God, not monetary stability and not be a novice                                                                                           

– Must be agreeable to preach All Sundays of the month

– Must be involved all church activities(ie. Sunday School, Prayer Service; willing and able to teach Bible Study)

– Must possess public speaking skills and be strong in evangelism  

– Must be a good role model of moral and ethical conduct  

– Must practice confidentially and family /community oriented                      

– Must support Morris and Benedict College                               

– Must possess at least 3 years of Baptist ministerial experience and training

– Must supply 4 references: The Moderator of current Association, current Pastor, and male/female layperson to vouch for character

Blue Bicycle Books Charleston Author Series will host a luncheon promoting the Charleston Animal Society book Caitlyn: America’s Dog, Friday, April 20 at High Cotton in downtown Charleston. A portion of the proceeds from the luncheon will benefit Charleston Animal Society (CAS).

Caitlyn, the now world-famous, chocolate Staffordshire bull terrier, was rescued and recovered after she was found wandering the streets of North Charleston with her snout so tightly taped shut, surgery was required to repair the damage.

The New Ashley Sunday School and Baptist Training Union will have its third annual Scholarship 4K Race/Walk April 21, 2018. The Run Across New Ashley race will start promptly at 7:45am. The course is set to start at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, 1561 Mosstree Rd. North Charleston to Park Circle and Back to Canaan. Registration fees are $25 for 21 years and older, and $15 for all school-age and college students. T-Shirts, water, and snacks are included. Awards for first, second, and third places will be given in the following categories: 6-8 years old, 9 – 11 years old, 12 – 15 years old, 16 -20 years old and Male/Female 21 and up.
