A forum with candidates running for City of Goose Creek Mayor and Council will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at 6:30 pm. The forum will take place at St. James United Methodist Church, 512 St. James Ave., Goose Creek, SC 29445.
The League of Women Voters of the Charleston Area is sponsoring the candidate forum.
All candidates on the ballot for Goose Creek Mayor and Council were invited to participate. Running for Mayor are Greg Habib and Michael J. Heitzler. Candidates running for three seats on Council are Kimo Esarey, Debra Green Fletcher, Christopher Harmon, Tom Keefe, Corey McClary, and Jerry Tekac.
The purpose of the candidate forum is to give voters an opportunity to meet candidates and hear them discuss the issues of importance in this election. The event is free and open to the public. It follows the League of Women Voters’ nonpartisan, unbiased and impartial format. Candidates will answer written questions submitted by the League and audience.
The City of Goose Creek General Election is set for Tuesday, April 3, 2018. Polls will be open from 7 am to 7 pm. If needed, a Runoff Election will take place on April 17.
