TTC’s Phi Theta Kappa Alpha Epsilon Omicron chapter recognized a need for students and staff members who were looking for ways to alleviate some of their expenses at home. As a result, the chapter opened the Grocery Vault on Main Campus on July 22, 2016. The Vault provides donated food and toiletries for students and staff who may be in need of some extra assistance.

To shop in the Vault, students or staff members simply fill out a form with their name and number of those in their household, while providing a current TTC identification card. No financial records are requested.

Last week, PTK extended the project to the Palmer Campus in downtown Charleston with a ribbon-cutting and grand opening on Wednesday, Jan. 31. TTC PTK Chapter President Stephanie Hable said the Vault is always in need of peanut butter and jelly and breakfast cereal as they are the most popular items. The organization is hoping to expand to milk and eggs at both locations but currently only the Palmer Campus can accommodate refrigerated items.

Anyone can make donations to the TTC PTK Grocery Vault. For more information, contact Daryl Milligan at daryl.milligan@tridenttech.edu or Christine Solomon at Christine.solomon@tridenttech.edu.
