Save the Light Half Marathon and 5K
Saturday, Feb. 3, 8:30 a.m. race start
Folly Beach Pier
Join us on Folly Beach for the Save the Light Half Marathon and 5K. Both USATF certified races start and finish near the Folly Beach Pier. Awards and post-race food provided. Race supports the preservation of the Morris Island Lighthouse by Save The Light, a grassroots non-profit organization that formed to save the lighthouse from being lost to the sea. Both USATF certified races start and finish near the Folly Beach Pier. Half Marathon is a run only event. The 5K is open to runners and walkers. Fees vary. Where the Wild Things Run/Walk 5K
Saturday, Mar. 3, 8:30 a.m. race start
Caw Caw Interpretive Center
Walkers, joggers and runners are invited to explore their wild side on the scenic nature trails at Caw Caw Interpretive Center. Caw Caw is actively managed for a variety of wildlife and a favored habitat for rare wildlife, so there is also the chance to see a “wild thing” or two! An award ceremony with local food and beverages will be held after the 5K trail run and walk. Family-friendly yoga and other activities will go on throughout the morning. Online registration ends Mar. 2 but will be available on site if space permits. Fee: $32.

Yin Yoga

SEWE Expo Combing the Caw Caw Wilderness
Pre-registration is required. The Caw Caw Interpretive Center just south of Charleston contains a variety of South Carolina Lowcountry habitats that are known for their beauty and wildlife. Join a naturalist to explore a cypress/tupelo swamp, freshwater marsh, saltwater marsh, bottomland hardwood forest, and more. Eagles, turkeys, otters, waterfowl, and more are often observed from the trails at Caw Caw. There’s no better way to learn about the wilds of the South Carolina Lowcountry.
