Save the Light Half Marathon and 5K
Saturday, Feb. 3, 8:30 a.m. race start

Folly Beach Pier

Join us on Folly Beach for the Save the Light Half Marathon and 5K. Both USATF certified races start and finish near the Folly Beach Pier. Awards and post-race food provided. Race supports the preservation of the Morris Island Lighthouse by Save The Light, a grassroots non-profit organization that formed to save the lighthouse from being lost to the sea. Both USATF certified races start and finish near the Folly Beach Pier. Where the Wild Things Run/Walk 5K

Saturday, Mar. 3, 8:30 a.m. race start

Caw Caw Interpretive Center

Walkers, joggers and runners are invited to explore their wild side on the scenic nature trails at Caw Caw Interpretive Center. Caw Caw is actively managed for a variety of wildlife and a favored habitat for rare wildlife, so there is also the chance to see a “wild thing” or two! An award ceremony with local food and beverages will be held after the 5K trail run and walk. Family-friendly yoga and other activities will go on throughout the morning. Online registration ends Mar. 2 but will be available on site if space permits. Fee: $32.

Early Morning Bird Walks at Caw Caw

Our trek through many distinct habitats will allow us to view and discuss a variety of birds, butterflies, and other organisms. A paid chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under. Registration is not required.

Yin Yoga

Balance your job, gym workouts, and even other styles of yoga practice with yin yoga. Yin promotes stress release and improves connective and fascia tissue by holding poses for up to 4 minutes. Open to all fitness levels.

Chair yoga is a gentle practice of traditional yoga poses performed while sitting in a chair or using a chair for support when standing. The practice improves range of motion, reduces stress and pain, and increases the overall sense of well-being. Open to all fitness levels.

Exercise just got a whole lot more fun. Hip Hop Hollywood combines the latest dance choreography with hip hop music to create an atmosphere of community, empowerment, and fun all while burning calories. These group fitness classes are led by dance instructors and are open to all levels.

Owls have long captivated humans with their majestic appearance and enchanting sounds. Did you know that many owls have asymmetrical ears that help them hunt prey in darkness with deadly accuracy? SEWE Expo Combing the Caw Caw Wilderness

Pre-registration is required. The Caw Caw Interpretive Center just south of Charleston contains a variety of South Carolina Lowcountry habitats that are known for their beauty and wildlife. Join a naturalist to explore a cypress/tupelo swamp, freshwater marsh, saltwater marsh, bottomland hardwood forest, and more. Eagles, turkeys, otters, waterfowl, and more are often observed from the trails at Caw Caw. There’s no better way to learn about the wilds of the South Carolina Lowcountry. A registered chaperone is required for ages 15 and under.
