Voters in House District 99 (Berkeley and Charleston Counties) will go to the polls on January 16, 2018, for a Special Election to decide who will represent them in the South Carolina House of Representatives.
The Daniel Island News and League of Women Voters of the Charleston Area are co-sponsoring a candidate forum on Thursday, January 4, at 6:30 pm, at Philip Simmons High School Auditorium, 3080 River Village Drive, Charleston, SC 29492. Candidates on the ballot are Cindy Boatwright (Democrat) and Nancy Mace (Republican). Both candidates will participate in the forum.
The forum offers voters an opportunity to meet the candidates and hear them discuss issues of importance in this election. The event is free and open to the public and follows the League of Women Voters’ nonpartisan, unbiased and impartial format. Candidates will answer written questions submitted by the cosponsors and audience.
