MORRIS BROWN AME CHURCH – CHURCH SEXTON(CUSTODIAN)

POSITION SUMMARY: In this role, the employee will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the church family.

Part-time – Hourly(30 hours per week)

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED

• Prior custodial experience in cleaning, janitorial and caring for a large facility preferred.

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

• Must be able to move and set-up table, chairs and light furniture.

• Must be able to read, write, comprehend and speak English.

• Ability to stand, bend, reach, climb, lift, sit and move itermittently during work hours.

• Skilled in the use of light tools and cleaning equipment.

• Ability to excerise good judgment, work efficiently, effectively, independent and amiably.

• Valid South Carolina driver’s license and clean driving record.

• Background check and drug testing be performed.

• Regular scheduled hours are 2-9 pm, but flexibility is needed depending upon the needs of the church

ST. MATTHEW BAPTIST CHURCH PASTORAL SEARCH – The St. Matthew Baptist Church Family is presently seeking applicants for the position of Pastor. The position will become vacant on December 1, 2017. We are requesting your assistance in reaching potential candidates. The applicant should possess strong leadership abilities, and most importantly, be committed to the Word of God.  The applicant must be a motivating minister and teacher. The applicant should provide leadership in all aspects of church growth, development and formulate innovative means for increasing membership. The applicant should have the ability to establish programs that will address the needs of all ages, gender and socioeconomic backgrounds.

St. Matthew Baptist Church was founded in 1900 and has a very rich and impressive history. We are located at 2005 Reynolds Avenue, North Charleston, South Carolina 29405. The church has a strong missionary commitment to the community and is actively involved in numerous civic activities.

We are desirous of an ordained minister or one who is willing to be ordained in the Baptist Doctrine.  The successful applicant should have graduated from an accredited college or university and possess a Bachelor’s in Theology and three (3) years pastoral experience.  Applicants without a Bachelor’s in Theology should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in some area, a minimum of two (2) years in seminary training and three (3) years pastoral experience. The prospective applicant should possess administrative experience.
