The Charleston Friends of the Library, in partnership with the Art Institute of Charleston, launched its 4th annual That BIG Book Sale design competition last month. This year’s winner is student Darius Kelly who impressed the four judges with his incredible design that is literally “out of this world”. “The poster competition is part of a long running tradition that gives artists the opportunity to create an iconic and timeless image that will be featured on all of the library’s promotion materials, as well as on a billboard,” said Brittany Mathis, Executive Director of the Charleston Friends of the Library.
That BIG Book Sale takes place on October 13-15 at the Omar Shrine Auditorium, with a Preview Sale for members taking place on October 12th from 5-8 p.m. This year’s That BIG Book Sale will feature over 60,000 unique books, DVDS, CDs, audio books, sheet music, and maps all available to purchase for prices as low as $.50.
The Charleston Friends of the Library is a nonprofit organization that supports and advocates for the Charleston County Public Library system.
