THE USHER MINISTRY OF FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH WILL CELEBRATE ITS 82ND ANNIVERSARY. We are having a one night Pre-Anniversary Revival on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 7:30 pm. We are asking you to come out and support the program. The theme for this year’s program “Ushers committed to Winning the Challenge of Change” Joshua: Chapter 1 verse 9. The speaker for Thursday revival will be Rev. Albert Morrison, Pastor of New First Missionary Baptist Church. Services will be held Sunday, August 20, 2017, 3:30pm at the church located at 1110 Camp Road, Charleston, SC 29412. Our pastor Rev. Charlie L. Murray Jr. will be the speaker. Weekend Events:

Friday, September 1st – Meet and Greet – Squinchie’s Seafood – 1959 Jacksonville Rd., N. Charleston, S.C.

Saturday September 2nd – Community Picnic at Gethsemani Community Center – 2449 Beacon St. N. Charleston, S.C.  At the picnic, there will be information on housing, emergency housing repairs, health screening, school supplies give away and much more!

Sunday, September 3rd – We will end the weekend by worshiping at Calvery AME Church – 2040 Groveland Avenue, N. Charleston, SC. We will be honoring the men who gave so much to help build these communities.

JOB OPENING! POSITION TITLE: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 

Reports to: The Senior Pastor of Morris Brown AME Church, Part-time, 30 hours per week

FLSA Status: Hourly   Schedule: Mon.-Fri., 9am-4pm with 1-hour lunch break

Position Summary: The administrative assistant will work with the ministerial staff, boards and auxiliaries of the church by coordinating office operations, administrative support and all activities of the church office.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent work-related experience

• Outstanding references from an office or administrative context

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Excellent command of English composition, grammar and spelling

• Proficiency in modern office methods, procedures and technology

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

• Skilled in use of office machines and equipment

• Multi-tasker able to remain composed and flexible

• Ability to work efficiently, independently,  and with others

• Strong time management skills, punctuality, and dependability
