THE CHARLESTON BRANCH NAACP’S MONTHLY GENERAL MEETING WILL BE HELD IN IN THE FELLOWSHIP HALL OF MORRIS BROWN AME CHURCH, 13 MORRIS STREET ON THURSDAY, JULY 27, 2017 AT 6:30 PM.  The meeting will include an update on current issues being addressed by the Charleston Branch. Chartered in 1917, the Charleston Branch is is celebrating the Centennial year of the founding of the Branch and is the oldest and one of the largest and most diverse NAACP Branches in South Carolina.  All members of the NAACP and all citizens with an interest in freedom, fairness and justice are welcome and encouraged to attend.

JOB OPENING! POSITION TITLE: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 

Reports to: The Senior Pastor of Morris Brown AME Church, Part-time, 30 hours per week

FLSA Status: Hourly   Schedule: Mon.-Fri., 9am-4pm with 1-hour lunch break

Position Summary: The administrative assistant will work with the ministerial staff, boards and auxiliaries of the church by coordinating office operations, administrative support and all activities of the church office.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent work-related experience

• Outstanding references from an office or administrative context

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Excellent command of English composition, grammar and spelling

• Proficiency in modern office methods, procedures and technology

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

• Skilled in use of office machines and equipment

• Multi-tasker able to remain composed and flexible

• Ability to work efficiently, independently,  and with others

• Strong time management skills, punctuality, and dependability
