Chaquis Maliq's Resilience Eludes Death Tour 2017
4/19/2017 4:09:10 PM

'Resilience Eludes Death' is the self-produced project Chaquis Maliq promised to work on while performing locally during Fall and Winter 2016. And now that the long awaited EP is complete, Resilience Eludes Death earned its position in the Charleston City Paper's Favorite Records of the Year 2016 article, post an unexpected, unbiased album review by The Charleston Chronicle. It is safe to say that it is certainly time for Maliq to hit the road with the RED Tour.

Chaquis kicked off the Resilience Eludes Death Tour, April 2nd with an intimate outdoor performance for Sunday's Unplugged at Spartanburg, South Carolina's Chapman Cultural Center. Followed by a two hour performance, April 4th for Spring into Action, hosted by Charleston's Marion's House Sexual Abuse Awareness and Prevention for Children.
April 21, Maliq will be performing for a third time this year at the Tilted Kilt of Columbia, South Carolina. April 29th, the 1 Woman Band will close out the month by returning to Spartanburg, South Carolina for her debut at Spring Fling 2017.

For the month of May, Ms. Maliq will experience some new surroundings. The first stop will be the new location for the North Charleston Farmers Market, May 11th. May 12th will be an opportunity Chaquis Maliq has been anticipating for years. Chaquis will make her way to Sofar Sounds. A private concert series which started overseas and is now worldwide. You may reserve your spot to see the 1 Woman Band via the Sofar Sounds site for the City of Greensboro, North Carolina. Performance locations are only revealed to attendees registered through the Sofar Sound site.

Another surprise invitation comes from NPR Music's Tiny Desk Concert Contest Team. Maliq entered the Tiny Desk Concert Contest for a second time in January, with no intension of winning, but hopes of being seen by the guest judges, Anthony Hamilton and Miguel. The EccentroSoul 1 Woman Band Tiny Desk Concert Contest performance of
'Patience' is an NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert Charleston favorite, along with Human Resources and SondorBlue.

These three Charleston favorites will join the winner of the Tiny Desk Concert Contest, Tank and The Bangas in a SOLD OUT concert, at the Lagunitas Taproom Charleston, May 22nd. More traveling is in store for Chaquis Maliq during the month of June. But before the leap, Maliq will return to Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina's Annual SweetGrass Cultutal Arts Festival, June 3rd. June 17th, the 1 Woman Band will return to the Columbia Festival of the Arts, Maryland, on the Lakefront Stage. The following weekend Ms. Maliq heads to the Midwest, where she will perform an intimate set and live recording for Chicago Acoustic Underground, June 24th. Sunday, June 25th, the EccentroSoul 1 Woman Band will perform a 1.5 hour show for the Oak Park Summer Concert Series.
