The March for Science is an international movement, led by organizers distributed around the globe. There are marches being planned across the United States and internationally on six continents.
This movement is taking place because of the simultaneous realization by thousands of people who value science in their lives that staying silent is no longer an option. Marchers intend to show legislators at every level of government that science and medical funding and education are essential to society’s health, welfare, and international competitiveness.
Marchers will meet on April 22 at 1:00 PM at three locations: Marion Square, Four Corners of Law, and the Visitors Center and march on sidewalks to Liberty Square at the South Carolina Aquarium for a 2 PM non-partisan rally.
Marchers have started “gathering” on Facebook at www.facebook.com/MFSCharleston/ and on Twitter: @MFSCharleston. The March for Science – Charleston website at www.marchforscienceCHS.com has articles, information on fundraising merchandise, and advocacy.
