Do you know your status? About 1.2 million people in the United States are living with HIV. Of those people, 1 in 8 don’t know they are infected according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
On Monday, June 27, 2016, 8:30am – 5:00pm, Fetter Health Care Network will provide FREE HIV Testing at its Downtown Health Center, 51 Nassau Street, Charleston.
“In recognition of National HIV Testing Day on Monday, June 27th, Fetter will provide FREE HIV Testing and counseling,” states Virginia King, Health Education and Community Engagement Specialist, “We encourage those who feel they may have been exposed to make an appointment by calling 843-722-4112 or to walk-in to our Downtown Health Center.”
HIV can affect anyone regardless of sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, gender or age. However, certain groups based on their sexual orientation, gender, race/ethnicity, and age are at higher risk for HIV and merit special consideration because of particular risk factors.
If you want to know your HIV status and to be pro-active regarding your health, call 843-722-4112 to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins are accepted.
