The South Carolina Governor's School for Science & Mathematics (GSSM) is now accepting applications for iTEAMS Xtreme, its computer science, technology and entrepreneurship summer camp in Charleston County. The camp will run from July 11-14, 2016, at Palmetto Scholars Academy. Online applications are available at www.scgssm.org/iteams.

iTEAMS Xtreme is GSSM's computer science, technology and entrepreneurship day camp for rising 7th and 8th graders across the Palmetto State. During iTEAMS Xtreme, campers explore the latest technologies while engaging their innovative side to develop an idea for a new product. Challenges focus on 3-D printing, mobile app development, and creating interactive objects using MaKey MaKey.

The camp will invite up to 60 students and run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily. There is an early bird registration fee of $165 per camper if paid with submitted application before April 11, 2016. Following that, the cost increases to $185 per camper. This includes all instructional materials, a T-shirt, snacks and a pizza party on the final day of camp. Full, need-based scholarships are available.

The application deadline for all of GSSM’s summer programs is May 13, 2016.
