With the closing of Alabama’s BayFest, there is now more room for upcoming bands in the South to be heard in Alabama. With plenty of bands coming from Charleston, for the first time ever, Chaquis Maliq the 1 Woman Band is hitting Mobile, Alabama's South Sounds Music & Arts Festival on April 8th!
Chaquis will join the stage with Los Colognes at Brickyard. In addition to her April tour, Chaquis will perform at a series of Earth Day Festivals. Including, Raleigh, North Carolina's Live & Local Earth Day (April 9th), MUSC Earth Day Celebration (April 13th), and Charleston County’s Earth Day Festival (April 23rd).
Chaquis' warm sounds have been moving through the airwaves, including live television. Chaquis Maliq captured the hearts, minds, and ears of ABC 4's Lowcountry Live in Charleston, SC just last month to help promote the Charleston DIY Festival. The hosts and staff of Lowcountry Live enjoyed Maliq's performance so much, they've invited her to return.
Chaquis Maliq performs original compositions live, without looping sounds, but authentically singing playing the guitar, playing the cajon, and foot instruments; defining the 1 Woman Band.
Last December, Chaquis released her first song since residing in Charleston, entitled 'Tired of Being', inspired by her experience in the South Carolina Flood. This raw, acoustic, indie rock, alternative blues that she gives in this track definitely has "Southern" written all over it.
'Tired of Being' is available on Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, and all other digital streaming/download services.
