Charleston County Government’s Contracts and Procurement Department announces a free workshop for small business owners called How to Become a General Contractor. The workshop will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, in the County’s Lonnie Hamilton, III Public Services Building located at 4045 Bridge View Drive in North Charleston, SC, 2nd Floor in Room A214.
The workshop is being hosted by Charleston County Contracts and Procurement Department, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) programs. The presenter for this workshop will be Paul Calvo, principal owner of Paul Calvo School, Columbia, South Carolina.
Those attending the workshop will have the opportunity to learn about:
• The Different Types of Exams
• Test Preparation Strategies
• Meeting All Requirements for Licensure
“This seminar will provide an opportunity for small business owners to learn about the various types of general contracting classification, and the tools and techniques to prepare for the state General Contractor’s exam,” said Contracts and Procurement Department Director Barrett Tolbert.
