Charleston Animal Society will launch Caitlyn’s Anti-Cruelty Fund during The Premiere on Saturday, April 2nd, from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. at the Gaillard Center.
This red carpet event, evoking all the glitz and glamour of 1930s Hollywood, will feature a special guest appearance by Caitlyn herself. Caitlyn, America’s Dog, was horribly abused nearly one year ago.
Charleston Animal Society’s efforts to rescue her, along with advanced medical treatment from Veterinary Specialty Care, brought her back from near-death, making her a national inspiration. She has recovered but is still emotionally and physically scarred from the trauma.
In honor of Caitlyn’s spirit of survival, Caitlyn’s Anti-Cruelty Fund will provide: Rewards leading to the arrest and conviction of animal abusers; Investigations helping law enforcement effectively charge animal abusers; Training for law enforcement and the courts to bring animal abusers to justice; and Medical treatment for abused animals.
Outreach efforts to educate and help pet owners enhance care for their pets before it becomes neglected. “We rescue victims of animal cruelty every day of the year. Although it is difficult to determine the true scope of animal cruelty because the animals have no voice, we dealt with over 250 cases last year alone, ranging from abandonment to torture and death. We’re committed to stopping it and need the community’s help in launching this special fund at The Premiere,” stated Joe Elmore, CEO of Charleston Animal Society.
From the group that brought you last year’s “Party of the Year,” Charleston Animal Society invites all animal lovers to attend. The party is inspired by Hollywood’s Golden Era, so folks can dress in their best Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, Cary Grant, or Bette Davis attire and walk the red carpet as they arrive at what is sure to be a glamorous event. Live music, hearty hors d’oeuvres, and flowing beverages will be available to guests as they await Caitlyn’s special appearance, then the party transitions into a surprise atmosphere.
Tickets are $150 and are all-inclusive. Purchase online at www.charlestonanimalsociety.org/thepremiere.
