Where the Wild Things Run/Walk 5K

Saturday, March 5, 8:30 a.m. race start

Caw Caw Interpretive Center

Walkers, joggers, and runners are invited to explore their wild side on the scenic nature trails at Caw Caw Interpretive Center. The 5K trail run and walk starts at 8:30 a.m., and an award ceremony with local food and beverages will be held immediately afterward. Kids' yoga and crafts for ages 6-12 will keep children entertained throughout the morning. Online registration ends March 4 at 3 p.m. but will be available on site if space permits. Customer Appreciation Day

Come enjoy all the play with none of the pay during Customer Appreciation Day! On Sunday, March 6, your Charleston County Parks say “thank you” by offering free gate admission to Ravenel Caw Caw Interpretive Center, North Charleston Wannamaker, Mount Pleasant Palmetto Islands and James Island County Parks. Plus, enjoy free parking at Kiawah Beachwalker Park, Folly Beach County Park and Isle of Palms County Park. St. Paddy's Pawlooza

Saturday, March 12, 12 – 4 p.m.

North Charleston Wannamaker County Park

Dog owners, bring your pup for this new event in celebration of green spaces and green beverages! Dogs and their people are invited to the Wannamaker County Park dog park for live music, craft beer, and food trucks. St. Patrick’s Day attire is encouraged, especially for your four-legged friend. All dogs must remain on leash. No outside alcohol or coolers permitted. Registration not required. Fee: $5. Food and beverages are an additional fee.

Lowcountry Cajun Festival

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Lowcountry Cajun Festival! Bringing Louisiana to the Lowcountry, Cajun Fest is a full-day of foot-stompin’ Zydeco music, Cajun and Creole foods, children’s activities and all around ragin’ Cajun entertainment! This year’s music lineup features the legendary Buckwheat Zydeco, plus Shrimp City Slim and Sidewalk Zydeco. Don’t forget to sign up for the crawfish eating contest, held at 2:30 p.m. Plenty of Cajun and Creole foods as well as other dishes will be available for purchase. Carpooling is recommended.
