The 9th Annual FollyGras Festival - Folly's annual take on Mardi Gras - is coming to Folly Beach on Saturday, February 6. This year's event will feature dozens of local food and artisan vendors, kids' activities, live music and much more. Guests are encouraged to wear their most festive costume and bring their beads. The parade will start at12pm, with the street party immediately following from 1pm-5pm. Entry to the festival is free.
Center Street restaurants will have food booths set up in front of their businesses throughout the duration of the parade and festival, serving off-menu and seasonal fare. In addition to the food booths, local artisans and nonprofits vendors will be set up on the street between Hudson & Huron Ave. The kids activities area will be located in the Dunes Properties parking lot.
Attendees can also enjoy live music by Gaslight Street at the corner of E. Arctic Ave. & Center Street, Soul Fish in the W. Cooper intersection at City Hall, The Shakin' Martinis in the W. Erie intersection at Black Magic/Dunes Properties and multiple bands with a crawfish boil in The Grill & Island Bar parking lot at Center St. & W. Huron Ave.
There will be multiple ID check stations set up at either end of Center Street, in front of Rita's and Avocet Properties. Anyone wanting to have an adult beverage in the street, outside of the bars, will need to purchase a wristband at one of these locations for $1.
Center Street will be closed at 9:30 am. Any cars left on the street are subject to towing.
