The Charleston Branch of the NAACP meets regularly on the Fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm in the fellowship hall of Morris Brown AME Church, 13 Morris Street, Charleston, South Carolina. Because of the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, the Charleston NAACP Branch meetings will be held on the Third Thursdays in November (November 19th) and December (December 17th) at the same time and location. All members of the Branch and members of the public are invited and encouraged to attend.

Trip To Memphis, Tennessee - The Retired Persons Ministry of Wesley United Methodist Church, Johns Island is sponsoring a trip to Memphis, Tennessee on June 9 – 12, 2016. Some of the activities will include a visit to the Civil Rights Museum ( includes the Lorraine Motel), Stax American Soul Museum, the Blues Hall of Fame, Dinner cruise on a River Boat on the Mississippi River, a guided tour of Beale Street Historic District with a stop on our return trip in Atlanta, Georgia to have lunch in Centennial Park and to visit the MLK Museum. The event will begin at 6 p.m. at USL’s campus (690 Coleman Blvd. in Mount Pleasant), and interested families are welcome to drop by and learn more.
